Implementation of projects to improve performance in public sector buildings, in the framework of the participation of the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry in the European Cross-Border Cooperation Program Greece-Cyprus 2014-2020

The Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism announces that it has secured participation in the European Cross-Border Cooperation Program Greece-Cyprus 2014-2020. Within the framework of this program, it will proceed with the implementation of the following projects:

1. “SYNERGINE” project

As part of one price call for proposals for the Cooperation Program Interreg VA GREECE – CYPRUS 2014-2020 was approved to implement the project proposal acronym “SYNERGEIN” , which for Cyprus on the energy upgrade of the building of the City Hall of the Municipality of Aglantzia, the building of the Municipal Hall of the Municipality of Lakatamia, the building of the Municipal Hall of the Municipality of Geri and the building of the Multipurpose Center of the Community of Pano Polemidia. The YEOBT is the main beneficiary of the project with a budget of € 0.955 million. The project will start running from January 2018 and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2020. The partnership also includes the The Nicosia Development Agency (ANEL), the Center for Renewable Sources of Greece (CRES), the Regional Development Fund of Crete, the Municipality of Rhodes and the Municipality of Hersonissos

2. ” STRATENERGY ” project,

Within the two price call (strategic) of the abovementioned program, secured initial approval to implement the project acronym « STRATENERGY“, Which concerns the energy upgrade of 7 buildings in the broader Public Sector (Municipal House of Geroskipou, Municipal House of Agios Dometios, Headquarters of Limassol Demolition Council, Municipality Hall of Sotiras, Municipal Gallery of Limassol Municipality, Municipal Megaron Municipality of Athienou and the former building of the Laiki Bank of the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol). The CEBS is the main beneficiary of the project with a budget of € 1,722 million. The project is expected to start in February 2018 and be completed by the end of 2020. The company also includes the Nicosia Development Company (ANEL), the Center for Renewable Sources of Greece (CRES), the Region of Crete (IP), the Municipality of Thira , the Municipality of Samos, the Municipality of Kos and the Association of Regions of Greece (ENPE).
